MSI mini-itx Delivers
By D. Erwin
I purchased this nearly one month ago for a mini-itx htpc build. My system components are:A6-5400k cpu8gb Samsung Low Profile DDR3-1600 RAMNoctua NH-L9a HeatsinkRealan E-i7 caseThree 80x25 case fansDVD driveSO far so good. System does exactly what I'd hoped. Perfect for hd viewing, tv over hdhomerun prime, etc. My only complaints are (i) Live Update (their drive/bios updater) does not work properly, had to install all drivers/updates manually -- they say there are working on a new release and (ii) wish there was a second pwm slot for case fans (just to be clear, there is one pwm slot for case fans -- i wish there were two).

Very stable board
By Joe K
This motherboard is quite stable with my current setup.Windows 7A10-5700Scythe Kozuti2 x Noctua 80mm Case FansMSI FM2-A75IA-E53 Mini ITX MotherboardG.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 MHz 9 CASRealan E-I7 + 150W external PSUIntel 330, 180gb SSDDue to this board being so new there are going to be bios updates, keep an eye out on the MSI website for something.Wireless: Atheros AR9271, getting ~2-3MB/s (16-24Mb/s, multiply by 8 for Bits >> bytes) with my wireless setup (Netgear N900). They also give you an optional antennae extender that has little magnets on it you can stick to things.Bluetooth: Hooked up to my Wiimotes no problem with Dolphin, took a few days before the connection felt solid. I have my computer sitting on top of my entertainment center so there isn't much interference.BIOS Software: There is some click BIOS software you can use in your operating system, after changing your settings just click save then reboot and you're good to go.IGP Ram: Useful option in BIOS, you have to first set your Integrated Graphics Devices to "Dual Graphics", this then opens the option to change your shared memory. I set this to the highest option, but from what I've researched you typically don't see much improvement after 1gb.Problems:Biggest, most confusing problem when I first put my build together was what my ACTUAL temperatures were. Being a tiny case I was worried about overheating. I finally was able to type the correct keywords and get some useful information about the temperatures.[...]It seems that the newer processors are using a different temperature scale based on TCTL. The fact that I'm getting 0 (using CoreTemp) just means that was the start of the scale that was put on my processor, and 70 (for the A10-5700) is the max SAFE temp using the same scale. Also note that HWMonitor and several others do not give the tctl scale from what I have seen.Publication # 42300 from the following link explains the tctl scale on page 133.[...]Assuming the TCTL_max is 70 for my processor (A10-5700), having a reading of 40 on the TCTL scale means I am 30 below the max, which is definitely in the safe zone from what I've researched. Within 20 of the max is where it starts getting into questionable territory. Typically I get a reading around 45 while playing games with am ambient temp of ~65F.BIOS does NOT like to show up well over HDMI, switching to VGA scaled everything how it should. Apparently updated to the BETA BIOS (check the MSI forums) fixed this for a few people. I end up just using the ClickBIOS software. You currently cannot control the voltage through BIOS options. BUT, AMD Overdrive seems to give you the ability to control it, I have no messed with this myself but saw that as an option. One big problem with the version of AMD Overdrive I installed (I downloaded the latest version as of 12/1-ish) was both onboard Bluetooth and WiFi stopped working. Upon uninstalling and rebooting the problem went away immediately, so I tried installing and uninstalling again with the same results.I've tested the following games with this setup (no overclocking at this point):Skyrim - 720p all high settingsBorderlands 2 - 720p all low settings (lags in big fights, but that should be fixed with a driver update soonish)Portal 2 - 1080p all high settingsPCSX2 - Works, looks wonderful, took a little while to getting all the settings tweaked just rightDolphin - Looks better than playing the games on my Wii, not all maxed out settings thoughOverall I like this motherboard, but I'm a little sad about no voltage control options. I would give it a 4.5/5 if I could, but from what I've seen/read this is currently the better of the two options for an FM2 Mini ITX mobo. (The other being ASRock)

Works very well
By Moo
I bought this as a replacement for the Asrock FM2 ITX board that I purchased that was unstable. This MSI board is completely stable. The BIOS is fantastic except you cannot do CPU VCORE adjustments. I would buy this again.2013-02-26 Update - This motherboard is still chugging along. I had some crashes with it recently. I did a Memtest and found that one of the memory sticks I used went bad. I removed the bad stick and the computer stopped crashing. I have played a lot of DOTA 2 on this machine with an AMD A10-5700 CPU and it works great. My specs:This motherboardAMD A10-5700Samsung 830 128GB SSDSilverstone Sugo SG05BB-450-USB3.0Noctua NH-L9A2x8GB S.SKILL Ares DDR3 1866
