Robust board, few minor quirks but very nice!
By winewood
This board was easy to install, and is feature rich. My last purchase was an ASUS Gene II, and this works just as well. With an unlocked 3770k ivy Intel CPU, the auto-overclock feature is like getting an extra 20% - 35% CPU for free. I purchased the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer for my cooler and it works fantastic even with a moderate overclock. Used 32 GB of RAM at 1866 speed. I found that 32 GB of RAM is overkill and unneeded for gaming unless you are using a RAMDISK. The highest overclock was 4738 MHz at 103.0 X 46 a 35% boost, but was not realistic with the heat and power usage for daily operation. I settled with a 20% overclock at 4223 MHz OC at 103.0 X 41 which was not breaking a sweat.I did have problems with 2 items, but this is something to work around, and not impacting my purchase decision. The "Network iControl" is a feature designed to speed up network communication and is software on the AI suite software. This driver is horrendous and with my Win7 machine destroyed my ability to upload. It took 2-3 days to determine the fix. Simply turn this off as soon as you load the AI Suite and you can avoid a LOT of trouble. Second, my board would not boot / post using a current power supply over 620 watts. I used an 850 watt and 750 watt. When I contacted ASUS tech support they basically said "Oh really?" and didn't offer any work around or fix and closed my support ticket. I am booting of the 620 Watt power supply from 3 years ago and am stable. Do not expect anything but a communication nightmare when dealing with ASUS if you get into any issues.

ssd freezing and takes a few times to start
By JigglyWiggly
just bought it and updated to latest bios1504 i thinkanywaymy SSD array came straight from my asrock p67 extreme4, detected o problemshowever sometimes quickly after reboots it just stops reading from them and it just freezesi have 2x120gb vertex3sand i know you are thinking "ocz oh my God"but it didn't have problems on my asrockso yeahEDIT: found the problem, it's from launching cpu-z and windows 8, it's apparently a common problem. Review has been updated ;)EDIT 2: this motherboard seems to not recognize keyboard and mouse a lot of the time when you overclock. It recognizes in windows, but not in the bios, so you have to plug in another keyboard and mouse.I tried it on my rosewill cherry mx red keyboard and a kensington usb keyboard, the primary keyboard gets locked out a lot of the time. Also sometimes during the windows boot logo it just halts.Motherboard also stalls a lot of the time when turning it on.It works fine once you are in windows and plan to never shutdown.

1 DOA out of 4 motherboards
By Dougie Fresh
I am re-adjusting my review for this motherboard because it appears the one bad one I got was just that, one bad one. This was originally 1-star and now I am moving it to 4-stars.The other three that I've installed in the meantime have been just fine. These are all for the same customer and they are very happy with this motherboard, its features and the performance of their builds. They've had no trouble with the ones built in September 2012 and the one I used in December 2012 worked right out of the box.[Original Review]I received this board just yesterday and put together my build with:ASUS P8Z77-M PROFractal Define Mini mATX case16GB G-Skill Ripjaws X RAM256GB Crucial m4 SSDIntel i5-3570K CPUASUS DVD-RWSeasonic S12II 430W PSUWhen I got everything hooked up and pressed the power button nothing happened. The green power light was on the motherboard but the power button did nothing. Thinking I had either a bad PSU or bad power button I breadboarded the motherboard with a different known good power button and known good PSU. Same thing -- nothing -- no fans, no video, dead. I then did some searching on-line and found reviews talking about reseating the CMOS battery. I tried that an it started up. I thought then I was good. That was until I restarted and the same thing again. After each restart I'd have to reseat the CMOS battery to get it to POST.I am returning the board and asking for a refund. I'll go with a different one after this experience and reading all the reviews with the same experience. I love ASUS but this is the 2nd DOA motherboard this year after years of no issues. I hope it's something isolated and not going to become a trend.
