Intel® Desktop Board D2500CCE is integrated with the new Intel® AtomTM processor D2500 and the Intel® NM10 Express Chipset to offer a stable Dual Gigabit LAN solution. This motherboard also provides dual-display support and LVDS (w/ built in inverter) as well as legacy support in the form of dual COM ports and an internal Parallel header.

The 'E' suffix in the model name (e.g., DN2800MTE) signifies that this product is an Intel® Extended Life Product (ELP). ELP products will be available for extended production times (3 years) and are perfect for project use.

Great for Router/Firewalls and other appliances.

This motherboard have everything you need to build and small Router/Firewall or any other embedded application. It features dual Intel Gigabit LAN while other brands of more expensive motherboards uses Realtek chips (they just sucks). I added an Intel dual gigabit pci card and use it to demo Untangle and test other firewall/router distributions: DD-WRT, pfSense and Astaro (now Sophos UTM).Pros:1- 2x Intel Gigabit LAN2- Quad Serial port. 2 on board, 2 with headers3- Customization using Intel Integrator Toolkit (Boot Logo, BIOS options, etc.)4- Mini PCI-e (full and half size)5- LVDS port. This port allows you to use a compatible LCD panels and an inverter directlyConsNone actually, but some things could be improved.1- They should have used a PCIe 4x instead of a PCI port2- 4Gb memory limit. However you will probably run out of CPU power before needing more than 4gb.3- Mini PCI-e should be compatible with mSATA

Having many users / family members sharing a home connection. I needed a device to pack a little more punch than the average home router. I needed to throttle some users, block some sites, save one some bandwidth (squid proxy) but didn't want to slap up an old power guzzling Pentium box lying around or dish out some extra cash for an embedded setup like an Alix board.Thanks to the other review by Tirso and the transaction with MCS (a seller on Amazon). This board has been great and quite happy with my decision to go with this device.Being able to slap this thing into a Mini ITX case with a PicoPSU and SSD drive with PFSense. (Shameless plug ---> pfsense.org)This device puts the beatdown on my older Tomato/DD-WRT router while consuming only 16-17 Watts.Needless to say, I'm quite happy with this board and definitely recommend it to to others as a great alternative to those who want a little more 'umph' to their setup.The only con I could see is the above review as well. Mini PCIe should have been able to be able to play with mSata. I went for the SSD as an alternative but mSATA would have been fun to have played with.

We use these for pfsense and Untangled and they work great. We have used about 15 different boards trying to find the right one and this is it. Most new boards come with a PCI-E slot be we needed a good old fashioned PCI for a cheaper 2 port nic as an add on, this worked well with the iStar D Value D-213-MATX 2U case for network appliances.
