Great Product!
By E. Madrid
I bought two of these Motherboards untested... the information on it says it only takes 2GB of RAM, but maunal says 2 slots 2GB each, so 4GB total.Update 2/11/2011: I bought a 3rd one, I love these little boards they run very well.It arrived and I placed a TL-60 2.0 GHz Turion 64 X2 CPU in it, with 4GB RAM from the laptop, it booted and saw the entire DDR2-800MHz 4GB of RAM! After installing the MB in a MI-008 Tower case with a SATA 3.5" 500GB HDD and a SATA 5.25" DVD-RAM, I loaded Windows XP and it installed just fine! Was missing a lot of drivers (make sure the SATA options are set to "IDE Native" for XP) rebooted and loaded Windows 7 x64, it loaded just fine, only needed the audio driver and it installed that automatically with windows updates (make sure the SATA options are set to "IDE->AHCI" for 7, Vista seems to hangup with AHCI so stick with "IDE Native").I went ahead and downloaded updated drivers from AMD and Realtek:AMD: 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc.exe (video)AMD: 11-2_vista_win7_32-64_sb.exe (south bridge)AMD: 11-2_win7_32-64_ahci.exe (sata ahci, only extract and force a manual driver update)Realtek: 6305_Vista_Win7_PG537.zip (audio, AC'97 Audio Codecs)It all went together great and I'm very pleased. The Cooler Master Active Heatsink & Fan For Pentium-M/Celeron M Socket 478 works the best...Fan & Heatsink @ Orbit Micro: Part Number: EPN-41ELS-01-GP SKU Number: 8070Link: [...]The Windows 7 Index for this MB w/ AMD® Turion 64 x2 dual-core TL-60 2.00 GHz CPU / (2x2) 4GB 800MHz RAM:CPU: 4.9RAM: 5.9(ATI Mobility Radeon x1250 Graphics)Graphics: 3.3Gaming: 3.3HDD: 5.9My friends new HP G61 Notebook, AMD® Athlon II Dual-Core M300 2.00 GHz CPU / 3GB RAM Index:CPU: 4.9RAM: 5.9(ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Graphics)Graphics: 3.6Gaming: 3.7HDD: 5.8Cons:They only came with MB & back plate... and poor website for manual and drivers...Also NO audio connections on the MB for the front panel, the USB connections on the MB are not standard...The pinout is:Pin 1: Power +5V (Red)Pin 2: D+ (Green)Pin 3: D- (White)Pin 4: Ground (Black)Pin 5: Ground (Black)Pin 6: D- (White)Pin 7: D+ (Green)Pin 8: Power +5V (Red)Once I changed the case plug to match, the front panel USB work fine!PCI slot missing, most of the Cons are mentioned by the seller in the product details...For what this board does, I have not complaints, GREAT Product! For $69.00 each they are a great deal, by the way they can use 1GB of RAM for video...FYI: Only the Mobile Sempron, Turion 64, Turion 64 X2 CPUs, Turion Ultra or high will not work with this MB...

Horrible product and horrible customer service
By cron410
First board came and would not POST.I had a heatsink on both the processor and the northbridge and they both got extremely hot.Removed a jumper up near the parallel port and it helped a bit with the heat problem and I finally got a POST.The video had lots of artifacts in it though and would not stay on for more than 10 secs.I used a Turion TL-56 90nm TMDTL56HAX5CT with 2 512MB sticks of DDR2-667. Display hooked up via VGA.Returned the first board.Second board arrives, I put everything together again and it wont POST at all for the life of me.Bought another processor on ebay for $12. its a TL-60 65nm TMDTL60HAX5DM.Board now POST's with new processor. Seems the old board fried my TL-56 no big deal.Go through BIOS and set fan preferences. fans spin up to 100% at POST, then spin down to be quiet. perfect.Install Linux and start installing packages.Few days later, I'm configuring my LAMP stack and both fans go to 100% top speed.sounds like a damn jet taking off.I put in another hard drive and install linux again to see if i did something wrong in my first linux install.System still has fans at 100% and none of my CPU temps are above 50C.I redo my thermal paste on both heatsinks. Problem persists.I then go into BIOS and set all fans to 20% speed.CPU fan turns off and system fan goes to 100%. I restore BIOS defaults. problem persists.I ask them if i can get a tested board, I'll even send them my ram and new processor to test with. They say someone will get with me to figure it out. No one emails me.Screw it, getting returned.I put that RMA in 21 days ago... They process my refund today. Why does it take 21 days to process my refund??Im not even using the same credit card. I activated a new one from PNC because they spelled my name wrong.Hope PNC sees whats going on and puts it back on my new card.We shall see.

Excellent for recylcing my old AMD Turon components from my laptop
By J. Wallen
When my laptop died I had some components lying around and I thought about selling them on Ebay. However, after looking the parts up I realized it wasn't worth the hassle since the cpu was selling used for around $6. I happened to find this motherboard for sale on Amazon, and figured I'd buy it. Here is my build:Heat Sink: Cooler Master Active Heatsink & Fan For Pentium-M/Celeron M Socket 478 From Orbit Micro. Part Number: EPN-41ELS-01-GP SKU Number: 8070Case: Apex MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply from AmazonMemory: 2GB DDR memory pulled from my old Everex StepNote XT5000T LaptopCD/DVD: cheapo liteon (SATA) from TigerDirect I had bought before and had for a backup but only used it to install an OS and then removed from the unit. It fits fine though into the case so no need for a slimline drive.CPU: AMD Turon CPU pulled from my old Everex StepNote XT5000T LaptopHardDrive: Spare 100GB IDE Hard Drive I had lying around collecting dust.Keyboard & Mouse: PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse I had lying around collecting dust.Monitor: Connected this one to my TV's VGA port.OS: Windows XP that I had sitting on a shelf after I upgraded my main computer to Windows 7USB Harddrive: I had already pulled the hard drive from my old Everex StepNote XT5000T Laptop and turned it into a mini-USB drive soon after it died.Drivers: I did a google search and found the XP drivers for this board. When I first built this box, I did an install of Windows 7 onto a spare 500gb SATA drive I had for another build I was going to do, and I don't recall having to find any drivers. I think Windows 7 has all the drivers built in that you will need to run this motherboard. I went with XP because I didn't want to spend any more money than I had to for this build.Everything installed easily into the small case, I installed Windows XP without any issues. Once installed, I removed my DVDR/RW drive and used the USB hard drive and Daemon tools to do additional installations. I ended up setting this up as a little local web server on which to test websites I develop for my clients. The motherboard has been running fine now for several months, and there were no issues. The only thing I didn't like is there is no PCI slot and the PCI Express x1 slot is pushed back too far to really be of any use, so you will not be able to upgrade the graphics capabilities. Apparently this board was sold with a PCI slot, but the one here on Amazon is a custom built motherboard and that was left off probably to save money. I looked all over and couldn't find anymore of these board for sale anywhere else so I went with this one. I had bought a WiFi USB adapter awhile back and I plugged it into one of the USB ports and it recognized it without any problems...just had to install the driver in Win XP.The integrated graphics are older Radeon graphics and they are not meant for any sort of 3D gaming, unless the game is very old. I attempted to run L4d2, and even with the settings turned way down to 800x600 resolution and no anti-aliasing, the game would lag and skip and the frame rates were terrible. Definitely don't expect to set this up as a secondary gaming system. In the end I ended up spending slightly over $100 for this build, and I feel it was worth it.
