Gorgeous Motherboard
By Navandi
This motherboard is a beast, it has all the features I could ever possibly need and it fits in my case perfectly. Most importantly, however, it dosen't look like I stole it from the eighties like alot of Gigabyte motherboards. It looks sexy in my case and it has a attractive bios with mouse support along with a crapload of features. In summary; I am in love with this board. Also: It has a port on the board for USB 3.0 so I dont have to run the cable out the back of my computer. Just, awesome.

This is one awesome little board !
By Paul W. Norman
The ASUS Maximus Gene-Z Gen 3 motherboard is everything a gamer could want and then some packed into one of the most attractive, well designed MOBO's I have ever seen.I have always used EVGA products which are also fantastic, but this time I decided to go with ASUS and give them a shot. I am happy I did.I had a few questions about the board after install and so I contacted ASUS's 25/7 Tech Support. So far, they have answered quickly and have been knowledgeable, professional and polite. This board is positioned as an entry level board to ASUS's "Republic of Gamers" motherboard series of high performing, feature rich motherboards targeted exclusively at the gaming community. After having looked around and researched MOBO's extensively for a new rig I was building, this one stood out as a great deal for the money (under $200.00) and for it's design, quality and features. The board was a breeze to install and even though it is classified as a Micro ATX, the spacing and placement of all key connections on the board would have you think that it was a full blown ATX in size....extremely well thought out.Especially of note is the software suite and Overclocking utilities that are included. One reason why I bought this MOBO is because I got tired of using basic BIOS interfaces for tweaking. The GUI point and click interface and easy to access direct-real-time software interface makes getting the most out of this little gem fun, educational and easy..(by overclocking standards).ASUS also adds a lot of extras that make owning this board all the more appealing; the SATA connectors are really high quality, the packaging is some of the best I have ever seen, they even include a front end connector adapter so you don't have to worry about trying to line up and plug in all those tiny front end wire pin connectors on the board itself. One drawback is that the board does not support 1394 fire wire connections. I do use that feature with a video editing software suite I often use that has a 1394 cable connection for transferring video from a video camera to the computer. I can only assume that perhaps 1394 fire wire is being gradually phased out(?) Anyway, this is not a huge deal for me, as I can always use my other computer that does support it for that function. So far the board is running great. I am thoroughly pleased wit this motherboard and am looking forward to many enjoyable hours running it.PWN (2-17-2012)

Love this Motherboard
By Ryan W
Great motherboard for those who need less than an e-ATX.Pros: Easy i5 2500k overclock to 4.6 (literally 2 settings in the BIOS). This overclock allows the processor to drop to 1.6 Ghz when at idle/non-demanding tasks and then throttle up to 4.6 under load. Great entry level board, Intel Gigabit LAN, Realtek audio drivers on the Supreme Xi Fi chip, easy overclocking (CPU and RAM), on-board display allows for easy troubleshooting, beautiful design, price should be dropping soon with the launch of the Maximus V.Cons: Spacing between the PCI-e (x16/8) slots is somewhat crowded. If you are running water cooling for GPU's or have great airflow in your case this shouldn't be of concern.Bottom line: This is a fantastic board that I purchased after weeks of researching. For a gaming PC it has every feature a user could ask for. 9.9/10
