Fantastic HTPC board
By Gary Gay
Paired this board with a i3-2120 used a cooler off i5-2500k, 2 x 4 gigs of Mushkin (MIA) ddr1333 ram, Corsair 500 watt psu. It stays very cool as in board temps & so does the cpu it's all in a Cooler Master CM Scout case. I have my good old trusted Sparkle GTX 460 1gb in it runs everything. I even play Left for Dead 2 on it.The bios are a little odd but no big deal. I did receive my rebate as in fast ($27.00 AXP card)! Has a 4 pin cpu power connector wouldn't do any major overclocking with it. It has great sound.

Resolved Intel video problems.
By OM
Very stable and fast. No Intel video problems like H67 chipset. The H67 chipset motherboards of which I first bought the Asus P8H67-M Evo had the dreaded HDMI video problems. They apparently have been resolved with Z68. I don't know if it is the chipset or something else. Now you can update the Intel video drivers through Windows update and not get a black screen on HDMI.

Problems so far
By Wayne
I wouldn't normally review a product at this stage and I plan to update this review at a later date, but I'd like to start off with information that might be relevant to potential buyers. The board claims to support various i7, i5, i3 and other processors, including mine. But when I powered the board on, all I got was blinking lights. One of them is called a dual BIOS indicator and if it comes on solid (as mine did) it supposedly means a complete BIOS failure. According to tech support, I need to send in the board -- not because of a problem with it, but because the BIOS needs to be upgraded to support my processor. But I can't upgrade the BIOS because my processor is not compatible until after the BIOS is upgraded. So if you plan to use this board, call the company and ask if your processor is supported without a BIOS upgrade, unless you have an older LGA1155 processor that you can use to do the upgrade. The other problem I have is that the board does not conform to the mATX standard. The company might argue that it does, but the standard dictates the form factor and it's what case manufacturers go by. Even though I have a fairly large case for a mATX board, the inside is segmented into different areas to keep down the noise and direct the heat. This board has SATA connectors that are on sideways, so instead of the cables going upward from the board, you will need extra inches inside your case. Since the connectors are stacked (2x3) there is no option of using a right angle connector unless you are limiting yourself to three devices (and only one SATA 3.) For me, the result was that installing this board required several major power tools. In some ways, this might be the easiest MB you've ever installed. The right angle connectors could make it easier in some cases, but in my case, after making a slot in the metal for the cables, I was still running blind trying to plug things in. Another feature is that there's a special connector block for the power, reset, HD light and power light cables. Those are typically a pain on other MBs, since the connectors are small and the space is cramped. With this one, you hook up all the connectors to a block with eight pins, and the block then plugs in to the MB all at once, making it as easy as plugging into a USB or 1394 header. But in my case, one of the pins was missing. Since there is an "RSVD_DNU" pin on it, I was able to move it to replace the missing one. If you don't mind moving around individual pins in this way, the only remaining problem is that the pins no longer match the ones on the board's header, but it makes no functional difference. It's unlikely that you will have the problem I have, and will most likely find this feature a big plus. In my case, it's unquestionably the hardest MB I've had to install, and that goes back to the days before plug and play, before the days when memory plugged directly into the board, and before video, audio, and even printer or serial ports were built into the board. There are many good features to this board, and I've had experience with them on other MSI boards. When I update the review after getting a working board, I will address them. If they work the way other MSI boards have worked for me in the past, I'd expect this board to get a star rating of "I like it." But given the problems I had, the fact that my particular situation should not have caused problems since there are published standards, and that the board claims to support my processor, I can't warrant giving more than three stars.
