Used this on a new build because I've been burned enough with Asus. They sat on one of my mobo's for a year, first few months because they changed their mind on RMA repair, then they lost it in their warehouse. A year later and some threatening I finally got "a" mobo back.Anywho about this motherboard...Pros:- BIOS interface is awesome, blows away what I'm used to with Asus. (I dont use that 3D nonsense and go straight for the advanced view)- Easy to upgrade the firmware before any OS load.- Easy to load the XMP of the 2400MHz memory.- Included Wifi/Bluetooth card- Significant power reduction for me- Read about the ultra durable features of this board, cool stuff. protection against electrostatic, humidity, temps, etc.- A ton of connection ports and features I'll probably never need, like the backup BIOS switch.- Other obvious stuff like 6Gbit sata and PCI 3.0.- 2nd SATA controller saved my sanity trying to raid some non-OS drives on 2nd rig... but would of been happier if the main intel sata controller wasn't crap.Cons:- So far the email support is horrible. Good thing the hardware is isn't.- Driver support on their site needs help, like for Vista X64- I dont like their hardware RAID at all. Previous experience with Nvidia controlled BIOS RAIDS were way superior and didn't require special raid drivers for OS or VD (virtual disk) configuration in BIOS wiping out anything you had on drive.Upgraded Build Items: (~$800)Intel i7-3770k (wrote separate review)Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H-WBG.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) F3-2400C10D-16GTXCooler Master 212 EVO fan <- awesome fan! Very happy in the end with this system. Did I mention dont buy Asus?ps - download speeds of Gigabyte drivers from america link are real slow, just get them from europe.

A well valued motherboard with a few workable issues.
By Brett Llewellyn
I made my first build using this motherboard and the recent lineup of ivy bridge (i5-3570k). The motherboard comes loaded with features and ports that I personally can't see completely filling up ever. I won't really go into all of the features since they're readily available in the product descriptions. So far, I've used the basics and all of them have worked without any issues.Putting the CPU in required a little bit more force to lock into place than what I have seen and heard about before. It indented the CPU slightly on either side of it (it actually cut into it ever so slightly) but did not damage any of the pins and I have had no problems in that regard. Just be careful with it.Other than that I had no hardware connectivity problems. The included wifi/bluetooth is well worth it to me and gets better signal than my laptops. The surplus of USB 3.0 ports were a nice addition (I haven't had them ever but man they're nice!) and as a recording artist I make big use of the firewire included.Unfortunately the motherboard was not released without errors. A couple of BIOS updates immediately removes a lot of them (I'm at update F8) and the included software makes bios updates very easy. However, about 10% of the time that my computer goes into sleep mode currently, it kills itself. I just turn the power supply off, turn it back on, and the computer turns back on and resumes its normal status. So in that aspect it's not a big deal.I had some issues overclocking my RAM as well. Although the 3d bios is very nice for newer users, it glitches quite a bit in the latest bios update when trying to alternate settings. If you read the reviews on newegg though people pretty clearly list out what you need to do for everything.Compared to other motherboards with the same features, this is about 20% cheaper. However, like I said it's not without problems, but likely if you're buying a motherboard you're willing to work through some of them. That 20% cheaper is coming at about a 1-2 hour of work cost to you, which I really don't mind.A lot of people have noticed the "sleep-kill" issue so hopefully that'll be fixed in future BIOS updates. But as I said, just flick the power switch on and off and it oddly resumes where you left off pretty quickly. Also, check newegg for some settings suggestions that work really well at eliminating the problem. Despite the 4 star review, I would purchase this again without too much hard thought. It's a very well valued high end motherboard.EDIT 7/10/12I wanted to add in fixes that I had found on different sites that eliminated the frequency of the sleep-kill problem. Note that it does still happen but now only about once every 2 or 3 days (or about once ever 30 times it goes into sleep, compared to about once ever 5-10 times).1.) Set Ram Voltage to 1.550 instead of stock 1.500(make sure your ram is ok with this voltage. If you aren't sure, ignore this)2.) Activate internal intel graphics. The BIOS manual clearly explains this process but if you aren't sure, comment and I'll add it into my review.3.) set pck clock to 101 instead of auto4.) Turn off c6/c3 in the cpu advanced f menu. Note you'll have to ditch the 3D bios and go into the advanced section for this.

Awesome board, mild hicup in bios.
By Anthony
Bought this board and LOVE it. It looks great, feels great, and is great in all regards. My only issue was a mild BIOS burp when i first installed it took a bit of off and on again and almost shorting to get it to boot on backup bios. The primary was corrupted or something but once the backup kicked in it copied over to primary and all is well now. I updated to the 7 BIOS and haven't had any issues.
