5Flawless
By JediL1C1OUS
Worked perfectly right out of the gate. Bios GUI is weird to get used to, but all of the motherboard manufacturers are going this route. Had no problem overclocking my new 2500k either - straight to 4.5Ghz with no issue. RAM installed is 2133 and while it initially detected it as 1600, I just modified the DRAM speed and it stuck without a hitch. Runs perfect and one of the cheapest ATX P67 mainboards available. One of the biggest reasons I bought this board is because for crossfire/SLI, the pci express slots run at 16x/8x together. Outstanding for the price paid.

4Fast stable board, with a few small problems
By D. Snow
Before installing the board, remember to peel-off the protective plastic film on the two motherboard heatsinks, otherwise the film might melt.I've read other reviews on Amazon and N**egg talk about a high-pitched noise coming from this motherboard, and the board I received also had this problem. After messing around with bios settings the noise was stillthere, so I updated the bios.My board came with bios version 1.09, which I updated to the latest 1.11. This helped a lot, the noise isalmost gone now, barely noticeable.Windows 7 64-bit installed without a hitch, and after several days the board has been running fast and stable.I'm using an i5-2400, MSI Radeon HD 6870, 80gb Intel X25-M SSD, and 8gb of Kingston 1333 MHz DDR3.My Windows Experience values are:7.47.67.87.87.8This board has some nice features, and a few problems.PROS:2 high-speed SATA 6Gb/s ports. Great for the latest SATA-3 SSD drives.10 USB ports on the back panel, 2 of them are SuperSpeed USB 3.0.2 PCI-E x16 slots that are configured as x16/x8, with ATI CrossFire support. Many other boards are setup as x16/x4.Military-grade solid capacitors with a 10-year lifespan (supposedly)CONS:The high-pitched noise problem. If the bios update didn't fix this, I would have returnedthis motherboard. The onboard SATA ports are straight-up, not the right-angle type. So if you installa 2nd video card that is long, at least 2 SATA ports will be blocked, and maybe 4.The motherboard manual is seriously lacking, and some bios menus like "Green Power" arebarely mentioned at all.

4MSI P67A-G43 Socket 1155 Motherboard fits the bill
By aquielisunari
I am not a technical person who has tried every option in the bios or an overclocker who can bring this board to the apex of its' performance curve. What I needed was a board that could support my socket 1155 i5 2500K and allow me to overclock should I ever learn how to. I have dabbled in mild overclocking of other boards in the past but never on my own. I've always had a friend that would be carrying me through the dense array of options found in the BIOS. I wanted the board to support SATA III as well as USB 3.00 and allow me to go SLI. While the board does not say it supports SLI I have seen many a form where this board is being used successfully to do just that so i am not too concerned about that and will of course return in a few months when I have gotten to that point. I will return within a week or so to comment on my crossfire configuration. I have the 2500K which is, right now, the best gaming processor on the market that doesn't necessitate a 2nd and 3rd mortgage on your house. The 2500K even blows away the AMD HEX core 1100T in respect to gaming. I went into this build intending on going SLI with 2 x GTX 570SC. That will take some time so I purchased a second 3870. I already had 1 and I saw one at a store with a tiger so I purchased it for $57. I shopped for quite some time before I finally settled on this board. I chose to pair this board with this RAM G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL . I received this board and the 2500K on the same day and already had all my other parts so I proceeded to assemble it. Well long story short it worked perfectly. Booted up, set date, time and all that, left the timings at 999 25. I entered my OS which is XP right now and then ran all my driver installs. I just cancelled the auto install and opted to run the exe files instead. I did of course have to reboot a couple of times after driver installs and subsequent Windows updates but after It was all said and done I had ZERO crashes, blue screens, ?! or conflicts in my device manager or any problems whatsoever. The system was stable. Or was it? I had to know. I went ahead and ran Prime 95 on blend. I also let it run and played BIOSHOCK 2. I then exited the game to windows without shutting the game down and opened firefox and a few tabs as well as a tab with a movie streaming. I then went back and forth from the game to my many temp monitors. One of them was Core Temp. It remembers it's hottest and coldest temp. The coldest temp was 23°c on one of my cores and it topped out at 58°c on my hottest core during the stress test combo. The PCI 2.0 slot also allowed my old card to spread it's wings effectively and my games run better. The 2500K of course had something to do with it too. This review is admittedly all over and off the map but the motherboard is but one part of a larger equation and I can't just speak on the motherboard alone. I also went into the bios and changed the multiplier to 42 and saved and exited to my OS. Wait did I just explain how I overclocked in 20 words or less? Yep. It was that simple. I went ahead and went through the prime 95, bioshock etc. again with the same results except for the temps which were 10°c hotter. I still have a lot to learn about the BIOS which is VERY easy to navigate WITH YOUR MOUSE OR YOUR KEYBOARD OR BOTH. This version does not have the Overclock Genie button but the ease of overclocking is so simple it doesn't even warrant a loss of a star. This board has not failed me in any way so far and I am thankful for that. To receive a product that was only lightly packaged with an extra box and some air bladders to surround it and cradle it for the long ride and to then have it become part of a complete system without issue is a beautiful thing. If you want a board with TONS of options but not alot of fluff this is most assuredly the board that belongs with your i5 2500K. I followed the instructions for the installation of the RAM ( I CHECKED THE QVL AT MSI's WEBSITE AND CHOSE MY RAM FROM THERE ) and installed it with everything else inside of my Azza 2000R and I couldn't be happier. OK I could be butthat will just have to wait for the SLI config.
