Cons: Not all SATA 3 controllers. That's about it.Pros: Tossed it all together and it worked. I haven't had a single crash and it's been running for about 38 days now. Windows 8 64bit. No complaints yet.

The Xpower II is a feature packed LGA2011 x79 mobo. This is an Extended Large ATX mobo that needs a case designed to accommodate the E/XL ATX factor. I put this in an NZXT Phantom 820 with no problem, which is running an Intel i7 3930k CPU. Without regurgitating all the factory specs, I'll just comment on the features most useful or appealing to me.-Very well packaged, it would take allot of work even for UPS or FedEx to damage it-Nice layout, slots are well placed with good separation-Plenty of expansion for RAM, PCIe and SATA-MILSPEC Themed Heatsinks match my explosive, yet controlled personality-Color scheme of the main board looks great in a flat black chassisAreas for Improvement-Only 1 USB 3.0 & 2 USB 2.0 headers (thank goodness for the NZXT UI01)-Onboard HD Audio doesn't compare to a separate quality sound card The minor shortfalls of this mobo are easily mitigated with a simple device like the UI01 to add more internal USBs (if necessary) and the addition of a quality Sound Card, which most enthusiasts would install anyways. In comparison, the strengths of this mobo are not easily mitigated on the mobo's that fall short of the Xpower II's features. So, if you want a rock solid LGA2011 x79 mobo with extensive expandability and backed by an equally impressive company; then you've found the moboload.MSi's customer service is top notch; they're responsive and will thoroughly address any tech questions you may have. I called them twice to obtain clarification on a couple of tech inquiries and they were very professional and helpful.

Figured I'd give MSI one last try with the new Big Bang XPower II, X79, Socket 2011. Unfortunately the motherboard was Dead On Arrival (DOA) as well as had a loose middle heat sink which would not properly seat with its one (1) securing screw. All items used with and attached to the motherboard I received were directly off of a fully operational; and working X79 motherboard.This board would not post at all as well as the digital readout would not light or work. The only signs of life were the Blue LED's which are placed around the board. All appeared to be illuminated however thats all my hard earned money spent on this board and the peripherals could muster. Tested and went through the normal routine of checking each item for failure to no avail.Motherboard thus is on its way back to Amazon.Unfortunately this board lived up to my first experience with MSI on the previous Big Bang Marshal board which like this one, good in concept however, horrible in execution.Really wish these motherboard manufacturers would get their acts together and start pumping out quality working stock instead of shipping what appears to be every single motherboard off of the assembly line instead of having in-house Quality control they depend on the RMA and return procedures at the customers expense and hardship.Because of this I only will purchase from Amazon as if I purchased from any other vendors, I Would be stuck with a DOA motherboard as did occur with a vender which had to do with EGGs when they refused to exchange and/or offer refund for a damaged motherboard which arrived damaged.
