• The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It's a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video.
• The Raspberry Pi measures 85.60mm x 53.98mm x 17mm, with a little overlap for the SD card and connectors which project over the edges. It weighs 45g.
• The SoC is a Broadcom BCM2835. This contains an ARM1176JZFS, with floating point, running at 700Mhz, and a Videocore 4 GPU. The GPU is capable of BluRay quality playback, using H.264 at 40MBits/s. It has a fast 3D core accessed using the supplied OpenGL ES2.0 and OpenVG libraries.

Product Description

The design is based around a Broadcom BCM2835 SoC, which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 512 Megabytes of RAM. This revision 2.0 board features two mounting holes for easy installation, a built-in reset circuit, and can be powered via the USB data ports. The design does not include a built-in hard disk or solid-state drive, instead relying on an SD card for booting and long-term storage. This board is intended to run Linux kernel based operating systems.

The Raspberry Pi use Linux-kernel based operating systems. Debian GNU/Linux, Iceweasel, Calligra Suite and Python are planned to be bundled with the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi does not come with a real-time clock, so an OS must use a network time server, or ask the user for time information at boot time to get access to time and date info for file time and date stamping. However a real time clock (such as the DS1307) with battery backup can be easily added via the I2C interface.

Cost of the Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi is a groundbreaking new microcomputer platform that currently sells from between $35 and $40. Any price over that is price gouging and you'd be unwise to purchase from such a seller. Do yourself a favor and do a direct internet search for Raspberry Pi and price to make sure. Great Board easy to install

Lightening got my old system starting at my lightening supressor and stoping when I had nothing left. What a great time to try the newest technology AMD has to offer. To that end, I chose this ASUS motherboard for the home of my new A-3850 APU. I have used ASUS motherboards and video cards for quite a number of years now and have always been satisfied with their products. This motherboard is no exception. The install was quick and simple. The only area I was worried about was the memory that I had purchased. I had bought Gskill low voltage 1600 MHz DDR3, 1.25 volt memory at a super deal. (Less than $50 for 8GB) It was not on the list of supported memory. Well, I was pleased when I fired the system up. It recognized the memory at the correct voltage and speed. No problems at all! The drivers and utilities all loaded without a flaw. The options available for Overclocking and Maintainig your PC that ASUS provides with this motherboard are almost limitless. One feature that others don't offer is the Memory checker feature Mem OK Button. You just put a stick of RAM in a slot and hit the MEM OK Button, Immediately you will know whether the stick of Ram is good or not. Boy, can that save some trouble-shooting time. This ASUS F1A75-M-F1 Socket-A75- is a feature packed Micro ATX Motherboard based on the AMD (HUDSON D3 Chip Set)for the A-Series AMD APU. It feature SATA 6Gbps,USB 3.0,TPM Support, and more. You can pick it up through Amazon for less than $100 with free shipping! Good MicroATX board

Pros:1. 2 USB 3.0 and 4 USB 4.0 back ports.2. USB 3.0 internal connector. No USB 3.0 front ports? No problem, there are still USB 2.0 internal connectors to go for.3. A MicroATX that supports two discrete graphics cards (AMD CrossFireX)4. Easy UEFI BIOS interface.Cons:1. The PCI-E 1x slot is easily blocked by a discrete graphics card.2. Inconvenient to install system memory in Rosewill Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case FBM-01 because they'll be blocked by 5.25" and 3.5" trays. Also the APU socket position position causes my AMD stock fan to press against my hard drive's SATA power cable very tightly, so I am still in search for a CPU cooler with smaller width than a stock cooler, which is difficult to find.Other thoughts:1. ASUS is a brand I can trust, this board is no exception.2. The issue with CPU cooler and memory slots are mostly an issue with the computer case, since it is small even among MicroATX cases.

Sweet board but a devil to setup

Board runs nicely. Easy to install in case, runs fast and stable. The trick comes in getting it up and running properly. Installed the board along with an AMD A6 3500 (AD35000JGXBOX) and Win 7 64 Home Premium. Win 7 went on a new drive. Windows 7 went on with no hiccups. Installation of the video wasn't fun. I couldn't get the graphic drivers that came on the dvd with the board to install. The installation kept coming up in Chinese; the scroll box with all the languahes kept scrolling up and down making it impossible to select English. If I read Chinese, I wouldn't complain. Couldn't figure out whether it was the board, APU, or the the Win 7 installation. Ok, time for process of elimination, which means hours of work. I put in a known good graphics card. (Those of us who have built many a machine have learned the hard way a good starting place is the graphic drivers.) Everything worked fantastic. So I pulled the card out. That narrowed it to the graphics drivers. Now here's the trick. First, do not use the graphic drivers on the Asus dvd or download from Asus. Next, flash the BIOS, which is quite simple. Third, using Win 7's native video driver, set adapter setting to 1920X1080. Here's the important part: Go to AMD and download the drivers for the AMD Radeon card, [...]. Once that's installed, shut down, don't just reboot. Restart. It's run sweet ever since. Maybe it was just a flaky thing unique to my installation, bad Karma, or my failure to read an installation instruction. Gosh, we all know builders always read instructions first. It's really a great board. Give 5 stars but that installation...

Prior to Rev. 3.1 this Motherboard was an AM3 ...however, I have purchased several of these recently from Amazon & they were all (Rev. 3.1) AM3+ which will also allow you to use AMD's newer FX Processors & the upcoming (confirmed recently by AMD) Steamroller Processors.

Good Board

The only issue I am having with this board is using a USB keyboard. I cannot get in the BIOS with one. I have to use a PS2 keyboard. I've got another USB keyboard coming. I hope that one will work. I have flashed the bios to version FFa, but that didn't help. USB Legacy Support is enabled in the BIOS. It has no option for just a keyboard. Everything else about the motherboard seems to work fine. I am sold on Gigabyte. They make their boards with quality parts.Update: The problem was the keyboard. I bought a new USB keyboard and it gets into the BIOS just fine. The old keyboard works fine in my old PC on an ASUS motherboard. I can get into the BIOS fine with it. I don't understand why Gigabyte doesn't like that keyboard. Anyway, it is solved.

For the price this is at, its worth every penny. its durable, works great and has a wonderful on board graphics card, i could run many games with out even having a card installed. great for over clocking and over a great board.

Superior Craftsmanship and Performance

I got this gem 4 days after ordering (no special delivery either). This is no common, garden-variety motherboard. It is extremely well-crafted, heavy, and laid out in a very friendly manner. It is the same board as the much more expensive 890FXA-UD7, however it is not set-up for more than 2 cards in crossfire - the more expensive board can run 3, and that seems to be the only difference I can tell. There are plenty of SATA plugs (6), the headers are all extremely well-marked, there's plenty of room around the PCIE slots for the really big video cards, and the on-board cooling of the NB chip is phenomenal. The BIOS is fantastic, from plug-and-play simplicity to being an overclocker's dream - it has it all. I am not an extreme gamer, but this board can be tweaked and pushed beyond the point where others fail. There's FULL control of every aspect (if so desired), and the BIOS makes it (almost) foolproof to mess up as it reboots and resets when it can't boot properly. And if that's not enough, there's a clear CMOS button so no more need to short out the 2 pins (which are still there in case something happens to the button I guess). I have owned several Gigabyte boards over the years, all extremely good, but this one is by far the best I've come across. It is every bit as good as the Asus Crosshair IV at a much lower price point (the UD7 model can go toe-to-toe and come out a hands-down winner, but that's what the extra $60 gets you). And it seems to be as future-proofed as state-of-the-art boards can get. Be aware that there is only one of the older, regular PCI slots so if you've got more than 1 legacy card, you'll need to upgrade (usually). Gigabyte's manual gives great detail, and the website goes into more specifics. There are also many forums dedicated to this board as it is a true overclocker's dream - a quick Google will find many of them. Also be aware that this board is full-sized, so you're case needs to be at least a mid-tower, if not larger. (The more expensive UD7 is an XL and requires a large case as the footprint of the board just won't fit a normal-sized one). I highly recommend this board, especially if you're into tweaking and overclocking. good m-board

lots of sata plugs and some of hard to find plugs,(ide,fdd,com,lpt) so if are running some older hardware and slowly making your way to newer hardware now you can take your time with the safe feeling that your motherboard will still be able to handle the newer hardware not be out dated anytime soon. great investment

Great motherboard good support

First off, I'd like to thank John at Gigabyte technical support, and Mike K and Teresa from Amazon for their great support!I was looking to upgrade my old MSI 870-G45 and originally wanted to get another MSI board. Fortunately for me, MSI's very poor technical support steered me toward Gigabyte and I'm very, very happy with it.The good stuff is that this board has ports galore from 6Gb SATA to old Centronics LPT ports. This is great if you have to transport your system around, which I need to do from time to time. This board also allows you the nifty ability to charge USB devices (like your cell phone) when the power is off. More importantly than these, I needed IOMMU support for linux-based virtualization. This board not only supported IOMMU but also had an AM3+ socket for the new Bulldozer processors announced by AMD. The board also has 5 fan ports which was great because I could get rid of my fan controller.The bad is that Gigabyte confirmed IOMMU support in rev 3.0 and later and you need at least rev 3.1. of this system board for an AM3+ socket. If you're not using the system for I/O virtualization or don't plan to upgrade processors in the near future this isn't much of a problem. For me it was a challenge getting Amazon to ship the correct version of the board as it's not represented by their SKU. With the help of the above mentioned people, I got past the crummy support of Amazon's outsource service groups. The 3rd board shipped did the trick and the other two are going back Monday.More ports than an ASUS Crosshair, far better support than MSI, I couldn't be happier... for now....
