The Intel Desktop Board DG43RK is designed to support a wide range of processors based on the LGA775 package including the Intel Core 2 Quad processors and Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Built in the popular microATX form factor, the desktop board is feature-rich with expandability options, such as DDR3 memory support, PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot, PCIe x1 slots and twelve USB 2.0 ports. Dual independent display is enabled with HDMI and DVI-I graphics ports.

First I must say that I have a very strong hardware background. My undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering and I recently got my A+ certification. I purchased this board to build a Linux system that I will use to prepare for my Linux+ certification exam. It was very easy to install and has worked without a problem.You definitely need to read the manual to understand the unique features of this board. I would strongly recommend that you use DR3 1066 (PC3 8500) memory which the manual recommends. You will also need a USB keyboard or mouse. The PS/2 connector will not support BOTH a keyboard and mouse.

This motherboard has proven to be very difficult to successfully configure. It will not "post" due to incompatible memory issues. The seller refuses to refund my purchase, only to send me another one after I returned the original purchase and paid for the shipping. From what I have been able to subsequently learn on the web, the bios must be updated before it can use the 2 GB memory modules I purchased for it. I would not recommend purchase of this motherboard or dealing with this vendor.
