I was actually going for the 4x-fire Asrock (bragging rights) but I am glad I picked this mb. I am quite comfy messing around with mbs and bios but I was a bit in awe of all the bios options - really cool if you like tweaking. The mb is really is well made and will take on large graphic cards with ease; depending on the size of case. As with any new equipment it helps to read the manual - you will not go wrong - even for those with high levels of expertise. The manual is detailed enough and there is no page better than the mb graphic layout with all parts named and numbered.The reviewer who implies that you can only use ATI cards on this mb is nit-picking for some reason because you can also use Nvidia cards only, not in SLI. Furthermore, to avoid issues of difficulty when adding new drives you really have to get a nice, big, big case which will also help in keeping your internal components cool.I had read a few online buyer reviews of "bad" experiences with this mb and xp, chipset issues etc. but despite them (reviews) and keeping in mind that a huge percentage of issues come from the other side of the keyboard (as the previous reviewer proves), I couldn't pass up the chance to get this fantastic mb, value meets quality. The mb is an ASUS mid-level product but make no mistake it is a high quality board built with some thought put into the process, case in point is placement of the SATA 5,6 ports.For the installation, I took out my intel e8400 and mb, threw in the Phenom 955 and EVO (thumbs-up ASUS for the padded back-plate, I have had problems of shorting because of the back-plate touching a mb), fired up the pc and apart from having to re-install xp; have a very stable running comp. My Mandriva linux installation didn't even blink, just raised it's eyebrows at the new h/ware re-configured everything, loaded all the drivers and brought up my login screen at first boot.My main issue is so unrelated I am wondering if this is the right place to mention this but HAVE AMAZON WOKEN UP!!!! YOUR WEBSITE SUCKS!! I notice that I can find items for my next purchase listed better but I still have to have my say as per the last time I ordered anything (Dec 2009). You guys have the worst e-tailer site and you'ld think with the money you make you could employ someone with the knowledge of how to show-case an e-display. Your service is really good with fast shipping and nice deals but for people like me who do a lot of comparative shopping it does not help if I have to type in a manufacturers name to search for all their listed products and still get some ambiguous list. How about cataloguing your whole stock and placing each in an easier to find category?It is so irritating to discover that I settled for a product only to find that there was a better quality/value product that was not listed because it was either labelled wrong and placed in a different category. What is the use of having a "computers & office department" if you list most of the computer components under "electronics"? I remember finding a thermal paste listed under "Scientific and something" - I mean..really... How about you guys surf NEWEGG for presentation 101? I would simply like to use to my mouse to list by either manufacturer, price, special deal etc. and get ALL.. read this ALL products. Equal (re)presentation is the joy of the window-shopper. I don't think I will be shopping here for now. A few reviews and then I'm off to Eggyland.

I build computers as a second job as a "one man company." I built my latest using this board for an HTPC/folding rig. I have never had a setup this easy, ever. This board is almost idiot proof! Hooked everything up, put my WIN 7 disc in and followed the directions from there. Ran the disc (chipset and other) with drivers which comes with the board and tried the "allinstall" feature, which worked flawlessly. Running a AMD 955 black edition with corsair memory. This was an absolute joy to build and setup.

Asus quality, and everything worked well out of the box. Still trying out all the features, but so far so good! Detected a AthlonII 630 just fine.
