Bought for budget build with amd athlon x4 631. Works well, but know that 631 has no on board graphics, so video card required. Took multiple power cycling with changing the cmos jumper back and forth before finally powering on, but no problems since. Must update bios to be able to use 1866 DDR3 (G-Skill 1x8GHz), but update reduced OC capability from 4.7GHz to 4.0GHz (I didn't believe the 4.7 till I checked with PC Wiz to see real-time frequency). Preupdate bios could set multiplier up to 6.5, but I could only post stable up to 4.7. After update, the max multiplier is 4.0. USB 3.0 ports work well and fast. Running with kingston 128Gb SSD for boot/OS/frequent programs and 1Tb 7200 RPM seagate for mass storage. All in all, happy with the MB. Minus 1 star for biostar bios not being perfect.

I RTM'd the first board because it wouldn't POST -- there was no beep and no video out of either port. (Amazon was fantastic for this. Because of the Amazon return policy, I intend to purchase most future components from them instead of newegg.) Initial Biostar US support is email only. It took 4-5 days to get the first email response, but after that iterations were only a day apart. After a couple more email exchanges with different memory configurations to try and a phone call (M-F 9-5 only), the Biostar tech concluded that it was a faulty CPU or motherboard. The delay in working with Biostar tech support pushed me past the newegg CPU exchange period, so it was a relief when the replacement motherboard booted up.On-board audio didn't work for the new motherboard, which took me several hours to correct. The BIOS was incorrectly set to use HDMI audio, but it's possible I set this by mistake in my first pass through the BIOS menus, which are confusingly arranged. The page for enabling AHCI so that I could install Windows 7 on my SSD was hard to find--I still am not sure where it was (Southbridge?), but definitely not under SATA settings. The real problem was that the audio driver included on the Biostar drivers disk installed find but didn't work. I used the Biostar website to find the latest Windows 7 64-bit driver. This failed to install first, and caused BSOD after I chose an option that meant "install it anyway". Deleting both drivers solved the problem. Windows 7's default driver set contains a driver that will work OK. Just in case there was a better driver available, I looked up the driver from the chipset manufacturer and installed that. That also worked.I'm nowhere close to testing all the features of the replacement board but it appears to be working fine now. It's very small--only 6 standoffs were required to install it in the case. Finding a motherboard for a very small case is the only reason I can see for choosing this motherboard.

installed and running for the past six months. no problems and the bios settings were very simple to adjust for the memory speed. otherwise, pretty simple installation and usage. fans are well regulated.
