Product Description
The Spartan-3 Starter Board provides a powerful, self-contained development platform for designs targeting the new Spartan-3 FPGA from Xilinx. It features a 200K gate Spartan-3, on-board I/O devices, and 1MB fast asyncronous SRAM, making it the perfect platform to experiment with any new design, from a simple logic circuit to an embedded processor core.
The board also contains a Platform Flash JTAG-programmable ROM, so designs can easily be made non-volatile. The Spartan-3 Starter Board is fully compatible with all versions of the Xilinx ISE tools, including the free WebPack. It ships with a power supply. We recommend buyers to get also the Digilent USB full speed module for programming the board.

Was packaged well, arrived on time. The board is compatible with Xilinx 7 (what I use). There is no datasheet or literature included however, but this can be obtained online. The JTAG cable must also be separately purchased. Note this is the xc3s200 model. If using a USB - JTAG cable and Xilinx, you must use Diligent Adept to program the board using a ".bit" file generated previously. The drivers for the cable are included with the Adept software. For an old board such as this, it could be cheaper...I only bought it for a project.
