If you are buying this board just for the SATA-III (6Gb/s) ports...don't. It uses the awful 9128 Marvell chipset. That chip doesn't support TRIM and doesn't have enough bandwidth to support even one good SSD. Because the chipset has a PCI-e 1x pipe, it is restricted to 5Gb/s. If you want to run RAID, you would actually be faster using the ICH10R SATA-II ports, and will have far less stability issues.Otherwise, this is a decent enough motherboard. I bought it to replace a fried P6T. BIOS is almost the same and the motherboard setup is very similar. The sideways facing SATA ports are a real pain to access with my case as the hard drive cage is right next to them.I find this overclocks cooler than the P6T it replaced (with all other components being the same). I am running 4GHz on air, 100% stable (even after many hours of 100% CPU utilization). My #0 core has always ran hotest - this setup on the P6T was usually in the low 80's in a 70-75F room, and now is in the low-mid 70's. I've found this chip gives very diminishing returns after 4GHz so I haven't tried overclocking on this board past that.I wouldn't pay a lot of money for this board, as it is obviously for an outdated platform. Had I not found it on a good sale I would have updated to Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge platform and just sold my i7 920.

The problem I had with my older MB and the I-7 first gen chip was it was unstable. This board on the other had can't be made to crash! I run programs 24/7 for very intensive processor use. This MB has not crashed since I got it set up right. Very nice, very good product. Not to mention it saved me from having to buy a newer I-7!
