Good construction, fairly fast boot (but watch out for internal USB devices, that adds like a second for each device!!, features a-plenty. Only one 16x slot. Don't see the use for the 1x, maybe audio. But this one's audio seems robust; excited to try out the 10-channel. ExpressGate does NOT use wifi adapters - didn't realize that one. Dual channel support - this means get your RAM in pairs, and get all the same kind. The placement of the PCI slot right next to the 16x is unfortunate; don't they know most cards you'd want to use with it take 2 slots of space?Total USB connectors is 12. That seems pretty generous. I don't get the legacy support for LPT and COM, though they are internal.Use the DVI/HDMI. I have not tried them yet but they are bound to be better than the VGA, which is marred by interference. It's like looking at a projection that's under a pool of water or something, kind of. Faint wavy dark lines flit across at all times. And a little blurrier than my laptop's VGA output!The onboard graphics is surprisingly capable and of course silent. Can play Braid (a very fill-rate intensive game) at 30fps if you overclock your CPU a bit. You can even overclock the onboard DDR3 VRAM. If anyone knows how to enable some kind of hot-switching between onboard and PCI-e leave a comment! Would be great to cut down on noise while using audio programs and coding.The overclocking on this board is extremely robust. I love how easy it is. You can just tell it a percentage to overclock a component and it can do it automatically.All in all this board is awesome for a small gaming system. The large heatsink I got fit very well and was easy enough to mount. Keeping this thing cool is also helped by the fact that it does adjust cpu speed and fan speed based on load and temp, like a good laptop.Overall, I am happy! Good quality, overclocking du'jour, generous USB, and not-bad onboard graphics all make it a great buy at the price. Legacy connectors, bad VGA and lack of hot-switching between onboard and PCI-E graphics keep it from being a 5.

The ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO Socket AM3/AMD 785G/4DDR3-1800+ is an excellent product. Little tight, but it is an ATX format. The only drawback I can find, and I can live with is... the PCI slots are too close to the Video slot (PCI Express) especially if you use an aftermarket card with a heat sink/fan. You lose one pci slot. Would have liked more PCI slots further away from the Video slot. But, the motherboard was easy to install and I have been "burning it in" for several days now with no problems appearing. It took my AMD Phenom 11 quad 4 955 CPU with its massive cooling tower with ease. Seems to be easy to OC, but, It's advised that you use DDR3 ram only for best overall performance.Would I buy it again? Most definitely! Only real drawback was the placement of the PCI slots. This is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of the full 5. Construction is good.

This motherboard its not for the gaming geek its more on the middle range price, if you are an overclocking enthusiast with the idea of pushing your hardware to the limit look for something else, but this board gives you the hability to do some overcloking without taking it to the limits, it has the fast boot option as well that does not support wireless , it supports raid just fine (more on the software piece later).I decided to give it a try to this model after reading a couple of reviews from Toms Hardware and some other places and it ranked pretty good on features/cost it had the 785G chipset that was new at the time, it has been really stable, it does not generate a lot of heat and can take on bigger heat dispersers other than the one supplied by stock with my AMD proc.I've have probably 4 usb devices connected, a 24in LCD and a 50in plasma, one with HDMI the other one with VGA that i use to display movies or straming content, it works like a champ, the ethernet gig card works like expected with high transfer rates of good size files to a nas device, my only complain on this motherboard its on the software piece.While the configuration sofware works great, the raidxpert piece leaves much to desire as somehow it reads from S.M.A.R.T. and lets you know when a drive has reached the threshold of errors and needs to be replaced, but it really makes it hard for you to replace the drive, its a kind of hit - miss.... I don't know if I was unlucky but certainly it has not been a walk on the park, i think i have enough experience with external storage SAN/NAS etc, so i am not a newbie to the area, the problem with the software is that it does not make it a simple process of allowing you to disable one drive and rebuilt from another one, while it allows you to copy or to add a drive like a hotspare it does not kick the rebuild process by itself nor it tells you to remove a certain drive after it finishes, it works but it could use a lot of improvement, to make it easier to the end user, and after i filled a support ticket with ASUS i did not got a great response from them, it was actually a pretty lame suggestion the one they made, that is my biggest complain but its mostly on the software piece as the hardware layer works without issues
