The LE verson of the P9x79 is the bottom of the ASUS P9X79 series and has some good features like having 8 DIMM slots to hold a total of 64 gigabytes of QUAD channel memory and 40 channels of PCIe bussing allowing multiple GPUs. The board also lends itself to over-clocking very well (both over-clocking the CPU and MEMORY) BUT PLEASE GET THE BIGGEST CPU COOLER YOU CAN AFFORD.There are 2 eSATA ports on the back as well, (NOTE: the P9X79 WORKSTATION,motherboard do not have any eSATA connectors on the back.There are a few down sides as well like there only being four USB 3 connectors (board has I think ten USB 2 connectors but why would you want 10 when USB 3 works with USB 2 devices.In addition, I like more PCIx16 connectors but that is jest my preference.I did not have any problems but for real performance, I do recommend using a OCZ Technology RevoDrive in the slot closest to the CPU and DIMMs, at least 32 gigabytes of very high quality RAM (WITH COOLING FINS) and with the highest clock speed you can afford.My last two suggestions are:1. FANS, FANS, and more FANS, as this puppy works well to heat a 10x10 room very well.2. Get a good RAMdisk program, load your applications to the RAM disk and run them from there, and do put your page file and temp files folders in the RAM disk as well as the processor can transfer data about 3 to 5 time faster from the RAM disk then the RevoDrive, and about 8 to 10 times faster than SATA Gen III 2.5 inch SSD.

Easy to install, clean, nice looking,plenty of sockets, not too gaudy in my humble opinion and for the price this thing is a beast. Definitely recommended for those looking to build a very high end computer.With this and a Radeon HD 7970, and 16 gigs of ram, theres really nothing my computer can't do

Built my computer with an i7 and the mobo worked for about 2 minutes. After installing the video card the mobo decided the boot decide and cpu led light wanted to flash constantly and chain reset. Replaced it with an ARock and it's running smooth.
