BLAM! I opened the box with excitement and anticipation for the build that was to come: A Home Theater PC that would pack a huge punch! I began the project carefully purchasing parts that would suit my needs. I began with the case... Home Theater in mind:Silverstone Tek GD08B Aluminum Extended ATX / SSI-EEB / SSI-CEB HTPC Computer Case Cases - BlackSexy. I found this motherboard, but what about the processor? low power, low cost, high value:Intel G530 CPU 2.40 GHZ 2M CACHE 2.4 2 LGA 1155 Processor (BX80623G530)Slapped that guy in this board - So far it's routine. Let's apply a cooler (screw stock cooling)Cooler Master Vortex Plus CPU Cooler RR-VTPS-28PK-R1Ahh, that felt good. Not so good... figures. Play with wires- now it boots! Yay!The boot screen was simple- very new age. The bios has the new UEFI tech that gives you mouse functionality within the menu... very nice. I like the overall feel of the bios, and it was hard to get lost. I like that. Easy to navigate, functional, and simple!I load up Windows 7... It's alive! Look good!The motherboard is beast. It has some capability. You can slap one high end video card, and maybe some small expansion cards to add some more functionality. You also get 2 SATA3 ports, 4 SATA2 ports, and frontside USB2 ports (no 3 guys...) It's all good though, because you do have rear facing USB3.0 ports to make up for it. You also get the ability to slap in higher end hardware like an i7 processor if you wish, which is great for future proofing.I really like this motherboard. You get Value, Function, and of course a great brand! I love Gigabyte boards. Go with this purchase. There are cheaper options, but you don't get the bios, you don't get as much rear I/O and you don't get as many SATA ports! This is the value board for my build.It appears to overclock easily as well. Not that I want to do that with this build, but I can.I would use it again if I had something else to build! Questions?

For $330 I got this box together, all parts from Amazon (love the 2 day ship!).16 gigs of RAM:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00698WHRG/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i012 core Intel:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LTU54Q/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i02DVD drive:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0033Z2BAQ/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i03AWESOME case WITH power supply:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QAVVAM/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00I had 3 old hard drives and another DVD burner. The board works great but I'll give a few pieces of advice on it. I installed Server 2008R2 and I had some weird video issues, and the network card would not connect. At first I was cherry picking drivers from the CD but eventually went with the "install all device drivers" option, which they recommend. That got everything (including audio) running nicely.After that I had some strange issues with freezing right after POST or after windows was running. I also would see both DVD drives suddenly missing from windows. After doing a CPU burn in, several memory test programs, and hard drive tests, I guessed the motherboard was the issue. I had already upgraded the firmware so I contacted Amazon and they took it back no problem and immediately overnighted to me another board.I had all the same problems with the replacement!Since both DVD drives kept dropping I figured I would try moving which port they were one. What I had done was had both DVD drives attached to the only two SATA3 ports with the cables that came with the motherboard, for some reason the motherboard didn't like that. So after just moving around which DVD drive and which hard drive was connected to which SATA port it all worked great! All my problems were gone.So, that's my story. Hopefully if somebody else has the same issue this will have helped them. It's a good board for a good price and Amazon is great on exchanges if you have a problem. I'm a very happy customer.

This mother board is small, sturdy, and can handle top notch equipment. This motherboard is the border between an expensive board and a cheap board. It is compatible with 1333mhz ddr 3 ram, but no higher, has 3.0 usbs, but only two. Drivers are included and also comes with two sata connectors which is a bonus. Micro-ATX are small but efficient.
