PROS:This board was easy to install and runs smoking fast with a core i7 2600. Gotta love ASUS with their complete manual, accessories, sata cables, latest driver disc, etc all in the box. I also received the rev 3.0 version... WHEW!CONS:Only 6 channel audio and USB 2.0. Other Web sites have this described as 8 channel audio, that is not true. Nor is there an SPDIF header on the motherboard or an SPDIF output.OTHER THOUGHTS:I guess you could configure the Realtek app to be 8 channel by using a front headphone port, but that is bogus. Still not proper 8 channel if you have to use up your headphone port. If that's not important to you or you use a sound card, then shouldn't be an issue. Just making it known since I was duped. There's also no rear mic input (if youre using 6 channel) which sucks also. Now my PC looks like it belongs in an Interpol listening station with wires coming out the front and back. Thats okay though cause it was my fault and although I'm sure Amazon would exchange this, I'm too lazy to tear down and replace. Still giving it 5 stars because the board is great, albeit stripped down. Don't care about the USB 3.0 really, but if that's important to you get the PRO or EVO versions of this board. Otherwise this board will save you thirty some odd bucks.Lesson learned .. Always look at the pics or the manual before purchase!

I got this board to run a media server. Setup presented no surprises or problems. It has been up and running 24/7 since 9/3/2011 with no hiccups. If you don't need USB3, HDMI or eSATA then this board is a winner. I have been using this system for transcoding, and digital capture of home videos in addition to being a media server.I deducted 1 star since the board has limited features, but for my purposes it has been a perfect match.

Used this for an office server, and the install was painless. The graphical BIOS is an interesting development, although I still had to use +/- to set some things. The SATA plugs face "forward" instead of "up" which is unusual but didn't cause any problems. Got this mainly due to price and the inclusion of faster SATA. I don't think ASUS officially supports Windows 2008, but the Intel Chipset and RealTek drivers were easy to find online (and in subfolders on the CD).
