I bought this to replace a dead hp motherboard, reusing the cpu, ram, hard disk etc. The hp used a non-standard microATX form factor, and non-standard power supply connector, so I couldn't reuse the case or power supply. However, this Intel board has much better features- more pci-e slots, all kinds of connectors, and much better graphics. I'm very happy with this purchase. I wondered if I was just buying a board, or what. Pleasant surprise, it came with a matching rear i/o plate, 2 SATA and 1 PATA cables, CDROM with outdated drivers, DVI to VGA adapter, and some instructions and stickers showing component/port/header connections. I was also able to validate the Windows Vista installation on my hard disk, using the phone process, so this was an inexpensive fix.

I needed boards to replace dying DDR2 boards, but the RAM was still good. So I looked for ones that were mATX and supported 8GB or more so I could consolidate the RAM from machines that had 4GB. These fit the bill, and use the CPUs and RAM from the dead boards just fine.

Replaced the motherboard in my HP Pavilion(died of bad capacitors) and only had to replace this motherboard. It is an older model but that is what I wanted as I did not want to have to purchase new ram also. I was testing Windows 8 on the machine, and had no issues with the system on reboot. Booted right in, updated drivers and I was on my way.
