It's not, or at least wasn't stated in the description if this was TPM 1.2 compliant, so I was hesitant, but purchased it anyway. It IS TPM 1.2 compliant and comes with a utility which allows you to easily configure the TPM. Easy to install, easy to setup, easy to configure and easy to activate. Adds a nice level of security and works in conjunction with bitlocker (in case you didn't know.) Anyone who tries to access my data without authorization is going to find nothing but a jumbled mass of 1's and 0's (encrypted.) Before buying this, make sure your motherboard will support a TPM. Not all do, so this would be a useless device if your motherboard doesn't have the proper TPM socket.

If you have Windows 7 Ultimate with "Bit locker" then this product fits the bill with its own version of setup software on a CD! I Successfully used it on two different Motherboards: the ASUS original 5 Year Warranty SABERTOOTH and the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, both worked fine with the original setup software from the included CD.

I installed this in my Asus motherboard tonight. Very easy install. I went into the BIOS and I saw the security heading that was not visible before. Windows 7 and Windows 8 (dual boot system) both found the TPM and loaded the drivers automatically. I've got 7 HDDs in my machine and in about 2 hours I have all but 2 of them encrypted with Bitlocker. I ordered a second one for my new board which should be here later this week.
