I did some checking on the internet and found a few people with the same problem. I tried all the suggestions that were made on various web sites to remedy the problem. Nothing worked - so i had to send it back to EVGA in return for another one. In order to do that, you have to start an RMA process with them. Then, I paid to have another board shipped back to me (thinking it would be about 3 days). Instead it arrived around 9 days later and I still have to ship back the old, dead board in order to get a credit. I looked very closely at the pins in the socket on the dead board, and it appears that one or two are damaged. I can assure you that I took every pre-caution one should take when handling these boards - and it still winds up with a few bad pins. I can only assume that it was shipped from EVGA in that condition. I looked at the pins in the socket on this new board prior to inserting the CPU chip and it appears that about 8 pins (all in a group) have a slightly different angle of bend to them and are not consistent with the others - so, I was expecting another dead board. But, after installing the new board this morning, and hooking up the power supply, memory and video card, it seems like it is going to post correctly since it makes one beep - but it stills gives me an error code of A6 - which apparently just means that its looking for the hard drive (which I still have to connect. So, it seems like its going to work!But, I am very discouraged and nervous about from purchasing any more mainboards from EVGA. I should also say that I bought an EVGA Z68 SLI FTW board back in April of this year and found out that one of the 16X PCI slots were dead. I found this out after talking to EVGA support and trying a few different options to detect the problem. Their tech guy asked me if I wanted to RMA it and I said I would wait to see if the second 16X slot went bad. So far, its still working here in September. So, all in all, I'm not sure what to think about their motherboards. I have an EVGA GTX570 video card that seems to work well. Is it their manufacturing process and somewhat shoddy quality assurance that is lacking? I'm not sure - but i will tell anyone that is looking to purchase a mainboard to do so with caution - and to expect a faulty product upon arrival. I would recommend to EVGA to step up their quality assurance process. I will say this much about their mainboards - I do believe they have the nicest styling to them over their competitors.

Building a gaming rig? Want a mobo with a lot of room, SLI capability, etc? This is the one for you. Temperature readout right on the mobo. Everything is labeled so even the novice computer builder (read me) can easily find where to plug things in. Have been running this now for about 2 months and it's a dream. Boot time with Win 7 on a hybrid SSD is about 10 seconds (the only thing that slows it down is when I have my two externals turned on). NO ONBOARD GRAPHICS so make sure you have a video card. The onboard sound is EXCELLENT and sounds great thru my Klipsh THX surround system. No need for a sound card.

Great service, amazing board. What more can you ask for? Installed it and bam! Turns on fine. Easy to overclock, and the design is great. Love the evga light breathing. I definitely would recommend it to anyone upgrading to a z68 board.
